what does a shema community look like
Communities that participates in the Movement are usually full of Christians of action who are niterested in seeing the Message of Jesus being spread into their local neighborhoods. These are good hearted churches, neighborhood communities, dreamers, entrepeneurs. The tie that binds all members of our coalition is this simple fact that we have an undying passion to share Jesus with people and have found the current mindset to have broken down. We validate and catalyze people attempting new and innovative ways to serve and love their neighbors.. Basic. Powerful. Life changing.

WE HAVE VALUES, A MISSION, AND A VISION OF THE WORLD
We are not a hip club of cool people who have left the institutional church to just hang out with each other. We have a purpose. To be a part means agreeing in principle to ACT upon these statements.

THIS MOVEMENT IS SERVING BASED: NOT SERVICE BASED
We are not consumer driven. We do not attract people who desire to attend a service once a week. We gather a network of people who choose to do life together. We become a part of Shema to give and receive--not just consume a show on sunday

LOCAL NETWORKS ARE HERE TO SUPPORT PEOPLE, NOT SERVE THEMSELVES
We have found that it is easy to become stagnant--and fall into a rut. Leaders are called to serve and empower people, not to command them around. Likewise, people of the Movement are expected to MOVE themselves--not expecting leaders to do everything. WE ARE ALL PASTORS.

CONVERSATION: places where people can explore and grow in their understanding of who God is and what He wants.
COLLABORATION: providing opportunities for people to serve God and others
CONSPIRACY: allowing people to see themselves as agents of change for The Kingdom of God, and calling them to work together.

These are important. We have spend a considerable amount of time and money researching the basic needs of the people we are trying to reach. We have struggled and invested so you can now succeed more easily! These 3 are God’s gift to us and our gift to you--use these tools to craft your community.

WE FOLLOW THE APOSTLES CREED AND THE BIBLE. While we include all people and encourage thinking, our roots are firmly planted in an orthodox view of Christianity. We are interdenominational and believe that a relationship with Jesus is what defines being a follower. We choose to not fall victim to endless denominational bickering and welcome all seeking the Way of Jesus for their lives.
